This is a wonderful early bonnet in a beautiful color of a tan fawn color cotton ..
It has a quilted brim with 38 rows of machine stitching ..
Inside bonnet is a light mauve color ..
There are four ties on the bonnet .. two for under the chin .. two for gathering in back of the head .. all are hand sewn on and tie ends are hand sewn ..
Inside has its old string for gathering ..
I have handled many early bonnets … and do not come across too many with falls as long as this one .. 24 3/8” from the top of the bonnet down ..
In the early days farm bonnets were worn every day .. out in the fields .. doing their farm chores ..doing the wash and so on .. this bonnet shows this wonderful old wear .. old wear holes in different areas .. old brown age and other old age in areas .. it is a primitive worn bonnet ..
